Serves as an assistant manager to the Readmission, Transfer Review, Transfer Evaluation, and Test Credit Posting Section. Determines priorities of work assignments and floats between sections as necessary. Responsible for the planning and evaluation of the mapping process for transfer applicants. Assists in developing policies and procedures within the section and may supervise employees, including OPS. Evaluates transfer credit for all incoming transfer applicants; AICE, AP, CLEP, IB; military credit and add credit for enrolled students.
Responsible for checking the accreditation of the institution, reviewing course description in the catalog of the institution from which the courses were attempted, and determining if the courses are transferable. Answers inquiries and communicates via telephone, in person and in writing with students, parents, counselors, deans, departmental chairpersons, and other campus personnel concerning the admission process, criteria, and application status. Makes independent decisions regarding comparison of courses offered at the University with those at other colleges and universities and responds to inquiries.
Assists with the review process for undergraduate applications to the University. This includes acknowledging for missing documents, calculating GPA's, certifying University admission requirements, referring to the appropriate academic department for review of mapping milestones (for both transfer and readmission). Participates in special events such as TCC Advising days, Transfer Orientation, and Transfer Information Sessions at the FSU Visitor's Center. Assists other sections during peak times in support of the goals of the Office of Admissions and Records.Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and one year of experience, or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to five years. Experience should be relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job.
Ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience counseling and/or providing expertise and advice .
Experience using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
