Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to electrical equipment including: repairing/replacing switches, outlets, breakers (limited), motor wiring, fixture replacement, ballasts and re-lamping. Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to building control systems including: repairing/replacing actuators, sensors, variable speed drives, thermostats, TECs, control wiring, UPS, replays and other control components as required. Completes required safety training and complies with all safety standards including but not limited to, lock out - tag out, safe handling of refrigerant, confined space safety, safe handling of hazardous chemicals and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Reports complex and/or unusual problems to the supervisor and coordinates with other Maintenance staff as required to complete complex tasks.

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to plumbing systems. Duties include repairing faucets, valves, pipes, drains (including unclogging), toilets and other plumbing related items. Performs other preventative maintenance or repairs for items such as hardware, door closures, etc.

Operates mobile equipment and/or campus vehicles including trucks, golf carts, personnel lifts and fork lifts and maintains licensure and completes required training.Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience related to the duties of this position.

(Note: Technical or vocational degree in plumbing, electrical HVAC or other trade may substitute for the required experience.)

Ability to understand and follow written instructions.

Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Experience safely operating machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work

Experience with the practices and the ability to perform skilled carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or other related field.

Ability to communicate effective verbally and in writing.

A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain.Pay Plan This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
