Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): High School Diploma/GED (foreign equivalent or higher). Previous experience with data collection methods or routines. Previous experience gathering patient data, maintaining research data and updating database with ability to run queries from database. Familiarity with basic medical equipment and able to measure and record vital signs. Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in clinical research. Experience as an administrative assistant in a PT/medical office. CPR Certification. Completion of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) and HIPAA training Brief Description of Duties:The Clinical Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting with spinal cord injury participants. They will ambulate participants on a treadmill. Successful incumbent should have excellent written and communication skills.- Introduce research project to potential spinal cord injury participants.
- Good communication with participants and supervisor.
- Facilitate project-related coordination among participants and members of the research team.
- Assist spinal core injury participants to transfer (wheelchair to mat).
- Control an easy-operating program-based treadmill (speed and weight support).
- Measure blood pressure, heart rate and record data. Able to report abnormal vital signs to PT or PI (high BP, dizziness, etc).
- Record research data and patient data entry.
- Post professional treadmill training and apply skills acquired from course with supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
