Job description

Position SummaryWork closely with Academic Departments and senior leadership at Steinhardt in the development of training and workshop content for the Steinhardt community. This position will work with all administrative and academic departments to conduct professional development around teaching and learning, course design, and innovative workflow solutions; as well as tool training and general 1-on-1 technology support. In this role the Learning and Development Coordinator will coordinate between subject matter experts to deliver innovative, fun, and engaging workshops and training for the community. The will implement pedagogical best practices and support educational technologies needed to effectively execute course mission, aligning to departmental goals & objectives. This position will also oversee our help desk for community support; as well as the piloting of new tools, including the analysis, application, and post-assessment of tools.QualificationsRequired Education:Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or Educational Related FieldPreferred Education:Master's Degree Educational Technology related fieldRequired Experience:3+ years experience in a training or instructional support related fieldPreferred Experience:3+ years graphic design and the development of high-quality training and support resources.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Clarifies organization training and development requirements by studying organization goals and strategies; interviewing executives; anticipating changes. Ability to select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things. Evidence of strong leadership skills and a successful track record of developing others through coaching, mentoring, motivating and training. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Knowledge of standard office software.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Certifies vendors by identifying, visiting, and investigating vendors; verifying vendor performance record; testing software performance.
