South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of Office Assistant 3 in the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).




The Office Assistant 3 supports the Center Director with client data reporting, market research, creation of business plans, and financial statements as well as coordinating client scheduling and correspondence, assisting with SBDC training events, conducting client surveys, and performing clerical duties for the office.

What You'll Do

The Office Assistant 3 will support the SBD Center Director by

  • Entering data into the NeoSerra database in real time.
  • Conduct real time market research.
  • Create real time business plans and financial statements.
  • Assist with client video counseling or extended counseling.
  • Perform complex computer tasks, such as merging and sorting, data entry, and developing and maintaining spreadsheets and database files including composing and editing correspondence and reports.
  • Assist with the training planning and preparations.
  • Develop contact list and disseminate training information.
  • Assist with training set-up and breakdown.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Answer office phone line, respond to questions, and process correspondence.
  • Maintain purchase card expenditure record, prepare purchase requests for annual blanket and monthly purchase orders, balance to monthly invoices).

Qualifications You Possess

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of clerical experience.
  • Intermediate experience in Excel and QuickBooks, and be able to work quickly in both.
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and software applications, specifically Microsoft Office suite: Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others and function as a team member.
  • Must maintain office confidentiality and accommodate numerous interruptions.
  • Position requires high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must have accurate and fast keyboard skills.
