The Economics, Accounting and Business Department at Converse College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Business at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to begin in August 2020.   For full consideration, review of completed applications will begin September 16, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.

Teaching areas include management principles and human resource management.  This candidate may also be expected to contribute to business courses for a new data science minor, track or concentration in collaboration with the Mathematics department.   An ability and interest in also teaching micro and macroeconomic principles, business communication, business law or personal finance would be regarded favorably.  This professor may also be responsible for offering other business courses as needed.

Candidates should have competed a Ph.D. in Business (ideally from an AACSB accredited institution) with a specialization in in an area related to the teaching areas above.  Ideal candidates will be excellent, experienced teachers, have significant experience with academic service, enjoy working with undergraduate students, and be able to collaborate with colleagues from diverse disciplines within a liberal arts environment.

The teaching load is typically three courses per semester plus one course in January term.  Additional responsibilities include advising students, assessing student learning, curriculum development, and providing service to the department, college, and community.  Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting. 

The department primarily supports undergraduate majors in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration (with concentrations in Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Marketing and Sports Management) and Healthcare Administration.
