The Electrical Engineering Department at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Desired start date is August of 2020. The department seeks applicants who will have earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, or closely related field, by the time of appointment. Applicants who can enhance the educational experience of our students and research productivity of the department through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills are encouraged to apply.

The Electrical Engineering Department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. programs. Students in the department enjoy small classes; several design courses, and a rigorous theoretical foundation in electrical engineering. The Master’s program broadly focuses on instrumentation in topic areas of interest to the department, and the Ph.D. program has the focus of cyber electronic systems. Faculty have active research with New Mexico Tech’s (NMT’s) Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC), the Institute for Complex Additive Systems Analysis (ICASA), Langmuir Research laboratory, in addition to Sandia National Laboratories, Air Force Research Laboratory, and Los Alamos National Laboratory. New Mexico Tech is located in Socorro, in the scenic Rio Grande River Valley of central New Mexico, 75 miles south of Albuquerque with its many attractions, and 139 miles south of Santa Fe.
