DescriptionThe School ofPublic Service is seeking interested applicants for a position atthe rank of Associate Professor (open specialization with preference forcorrections and/or courts), beginning August 2020. This position will be housedin the School of Public Service with primary appointment to the CriminalJustice Program. Criminal Justice is an established program with successfulBachelor of Science and Master of Arts programs, and a strong record ofscholarly activity, including both peer-reviewed research and collaborationwith local criminal justice agencies. The successful applicant is expected toengage in (1) teaching in a variety of formats and potentially within relatedinterdisciplinary programs in the School of Public Service; (2) peer-reviewedand public service scholarship; and (3) program, school, university, community,and professional service. In addition to serving the Criminal Justice program, faculty members will support the growth ofinterdisciplinary programs (Environmental Studies, Global Studies, UrbanStudies and Community Development) within the School of Public Service, as wellas the existing MA, MPA, and PhD graduate programs.

 You will have the opportunity to:
  • Work in a dynamic CriminalJustice program with 11 full-time faculty members and both undergraduate andgraduate students
  • Collaborate with criminaljustice agencies in the course of your research or service
  • Engage with students and other faculty in the School ofPublic Service
 Minimum Requirements:
  • criminal justice, criminology, or a closely related field (a J.D. alone isnot sufficient for this position)
  • Currentfaculty rank of Associate Professor
  • Demonstratedexcellence in teaching, research, and community engagement
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specialization incorrections and/or courts
 Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
