Earned doctorate in Early Childhood Education or equivalent from an accredited institution is required. Successful university level teaching and supervision experiences; three years of successful work experience with young children or equivalent clinical experiences serving children P-5 are also required.

A desirable qualification includes public school experience and a demonstrated commitment to scholarly activity (ability to secure external funding support, scholarly publications, and conference presentations). Other preferred qualifications include: demonstration of collegiate teamwork, experience in alternative early childhood delivery systems, familiarity with ECEC standards and standards-based instruction, and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Testing Requirements:Illustrative Examples of Work: Advises students, assists with program assessment/accreditation reports, etc.; leads curriculum development; seeks external funding; performs other job-related duties as required.
