The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Clinical Child and Adolescent Social Worker (LCSW) for the pediatric burn aftercare program in Chapel Hill, NC. The LCSW is responsible for provision of direct care for adolescents and parents or guardians, for assessment, planning, and coordination of evidence based treatments, which are trauma based, and support services provided by this position and other members of the NC Jaycee Burn Center Aftercare program. This position is also responsible for directly providing and assisting in the provision of treatment, recovery and support services (individual and group), as well as for systematic monitoring of service delivery and adjustment of the treatment plan to meet changing client needs. A portion of time spent in this position will be directed toward case management services and in liaison with statewide mental health providers.

Educational Requirements

Applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work and be licensed in the state of North Carolina.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess licensure (LCSW) from the State of NC to practice as a Clinical Social Worker, and have at least three years of direct clinical experience with children and adolescents with mental health concerns and their families. Significant clinical experience with children and adults with traumatizing experiences and symptoms of child and adult trauma and stress related disorders is preferred. Knowledge of models of trauma and family therapies is required. Experience with medical injury is strongly preferred specifically the experience of working with burn or similar injuries and with interdisciplinary providers.
