Basic Function

Provides administrative assistance for the LTR Dean including compliance assurance, report writing, reconciliation of information or financial data, records management, scheduling, data collection and analysis, research, inventory, budget management, and funds allocations or expenditures for the Learning & Technology Resources division.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assists LTR Dean in preparing and monitoring budgets. Assists in the purchasing operation of LTR including preparation, processing, verification, and monitoring of purchase requisitions, contracts, services, and travel expenses. Conduct analysis and design reports to present assessment measures for the LTR division. Exercise independent judgment in applying LTR and College policies to ensure that LTR runs in an efficient and effective manner.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in business or related field OR combination of education, training and experience.

Previous experience in an administrative role

Previous experience managing budgets

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
previous experience working in a community college.

Previous experience with eVA and PeopleSoft.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

At least three years of experience working in higher education.

At least three years of experience with budgets.

Knowledge of State policies and procedures in VA.

Understanding of accounting principles.

Proficient using Microsoft Office products including MS Excel (building formulas, tables, scenarios at a development level)

Strong attention to detail.

Accounting/bookkeeping and mathematical reasoning skills.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to provide detailed and accurate information.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Sound decision making and problem-solving skills ability to articulate and support those decisions.
