Group Lead Youth Ambassadors Program In-bound

Job Overview
The Program Coordinator works with Georgetown staff and site visit partners to facilitate the U.S. exchange for up to 30 participants (youth and adult mentors). This includes meeting the students at the point of U.S. arrival and accompanying throughout their three-week exchange in the U.S. The Coordinator travels with the group on their study tour to work with the site visit partner by supporting activities. While in Washington, DC, the Coordinator works with CIED staff to ensures that activities are carried out as planned and troubleshoots as needed.

Work Interactions
The Coordinator meets regularly with the participants to help them contextualize what they are learning in the United States and how it will be relevant to them (and others) in their home countries. This includes jump starting follow-on projects while the group is in the United States. The Coordinator is the first line contact should participants face personal or health issues. Throughout the program, the Coordinator serves as the official Georgetown University representative. At the end of the program, the Coordinator accompanies participants to the U.S. port of departure. The Coordinator is in constant communication with the Program Director at Georgetown to update on progress and resolve issues in real time.

Requirements and Qualifications
The candidate must have a bachelor's degree as well as extensive knowledge of Latin America/the Caribbean and understanding of cultural difference is crucial to the success and implementation of the program. Fluency in English and Spanish are also required.
