Assist the Testing Services Specialist with the administration of academic exams for students with testing accommodations. As an SAS student assistant, you will adhere to SAS test procedures, communicate with faculty, students, and SAS staff, and ensure a firm commitment to work hours as assigned. Students in this position are expected to work regular hours up to and including finals week.

Duties & Responsibilities Include But are Not Limited To:
• Monitor students during exams to ensure test security
• Contact students who do not arrive for exams, and indicate absence on exam envelope
• Proctor, read, or scribe exams as needed
• Generate Test Return logs, return completed exams to Dean’s Offices, and collect signatures for each exam
• Maintain a daily log to document test-related activities, concerns, and priorities
• Address current or potential problems in a timely manner with input from the Testing Services Specialist
• Converting course material to an accessible format
• Helping to administer the peer notetaking program
• Assisting with the creation and distribution of accessible media

Office Assistants will work a set schedule up to and including finals week. We have one office assistant position available for Thursdays from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM, and Fridays from 7:00 – 10:00 AM. Additional proctoring hours are available on an as-needed basis. We also have multiple Proctor openings with hours that vary depending on the SAS exam schedule. Students who are hired as proctors only, will not have the same responsibilities as office assistants.

Required Qualifications

• Reliability, dependability, and punctuality
• Ability to accurately multitask with attention to detail (keeping files organized, maintaining records, reading carefully)
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Proactive problem solver
• Comfortable with computers and with learning new computer-based skills (learning new programs, new procedures, etc.)
• Ability to remain calm and professional at all times
