The Department of Music at St. Lawrence University seeks a scholar who is skilled at teaching performance in an ensemble setting. A doctoral degree by time of application is required. We especially seek a colleague with the ability to teach the history and performance of American vernacular musics. An interest in teaching in the university’s First-Year Program is expected, and an ability to teach at least one of the department’s core courses-MUS 100, Introduction to Music; MUS 200, Music Theory; MUS 210, Musics of the World; or MUS 220, Music and Technology-is desirable. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, and will be expected to maintain an appropriate level of scholarship and university service.
