Position Summary

The Athletics Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for an Assistant Track and Field Coach, Throws. The Assistant Track and Field Coach will assist the head coach in all aspects of running a competitive NCAA Division III track and field program and will serve as event group coach for the throws. The work will have a specific focus on student-athlete development, retention, and creating a strong, positive culture within the team. The Assistant Track and Field Coach will also actively help recruit qualified student-athletes to St. Catherine University and assist in team operations. This is a part- time position that does not include benefits. Hours may vary, evening, weekends and the ability to travel required.

Responsibilities:
•Assist the head coach with planning training and practice sessions based on the strategy and philosophy of the program.
•Perform all practice and competition coaching responsibilities for the throws group and will provide skill instruction and student-athlete development.
•Be a mentor and leader in generating a positive experience for student-athletes.
•Follow MIAC and NCAA guidelines and regulations while being a positive ambassador for the athletic department and the University.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree.
•Coaching experience or collegiate playing experience.
•Available evenings, weekends and the ability to travel.
•Strong organizational and communication skills.

•Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment.
•Ability to work effectively in a team environment; and work independently with little supervision.
