Position Summary

The Center for Community Work and Learning at St. Catherine University invites applications for our Program Coordinator at .80 FTE. Anticipated start by early to mid-September. The Program Coordinator supports the development, implementation and evaluation of CWL’s student employment programs that advance the university’s academic and civic engagement mission. The Program Coordinator oversees Assistantship Mentoring Program and America Reads. The incumbent works collaboratively and creatively across Student and Academic Affairs. The Center for Community Work and Learning facilitates community engagement to enhance student academic learning and leadership development through service learning and student employment, both on and off campus.

The salary range for this exempt position is $31,122 – 34,580/year, with excellent benefits, including tuition remission at St. Kate’s (and other participating schools) for employees and their families, health, dental, vision, an 8% 403b contribution, paid vacation/sick/holiday time, and six weeks of paid parental leave, and full access to the Butler ( fitness) Center.

Responsibilities :

Manage America Reads
•Lead programmatic structure within CWL student employment.
•Work collaboratively with school and nonprofit sites to maintain effective, mutually beneficial tutoring.
•Supervise and support 30+ America Reads tutors; including applications, payroll, mentoring.
•Develop, support and evaluate required professional development/workshops for tutors.
Manage Assistantship Mentoring Program
•Plan, design and implement programmatic components to ensure successful scholarly community for AMP mentors and assistants.
•Support 30+ AMP faculty/staff and student teams; including applications, payroll, mentoring.
•Facilitate orientation and professional development for AMP faculty, staff and students.
•Work collaboratively with faculty and nonprofit partners to grow community-led research opportunities.
Overall support of CWL mission, goals, communication and assessment
•Provide ongoing supervision and mentorship to CWL student coordinators.
•Support work that advances CWL and university mission, strategic plan.
•Work with CWL staff to implement communications and assessment plans for both programs.
•Contribute within Academic Affairs representing AMP, America Reads role in university-wide efforts.

Required Qualifications


•Bachelor’s degree required.
•Minimum of 4 years of experience in higher education, or related field.
•Ability to design, coordinate, and facilitate professional development for student and faculty.
•Strong interpersonal skills, ability to cultivate relationships with students, faculty, community.
•Experience working with and supporting diverse populations.
•Excellent oral/written communication; strong organizational, administrative and strategic skills.
•Experience in program design, development, management and evaluation.
