- Delivers direct health care services to students involving evaluation and management of a wide range of acute and chronic health problems.
- Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations and diagnose conditions.
- Orders laboratory tests and interprets results.
- Prescribes medication based on established medical criteria and evaluates outcomes.
-Provide direct supervision to Lake Shore Medical staff including interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems in conjunction with the leadership staff of the Wellness Center.
-assists in formulating and implementing policies and procedures for services in conjunction with leadership staff.
-develops liaisons with academic departments
-Serves as point person for electronic medical record relationship with vendor and develops relationship with Information Technologies regarding EMR
-Orders all supplies for medical staff and assists in inventory with Clinical Coordinator
- Provides patient education.
- Refers patients to physicians for consult as needed.
- Precepts graduate nursing students.
- Consults and provides guidance to staff nurses.
- Delivers presentations to the University community on health care topics.
- Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Master’s degree in nursing and three years of related experience, with the desire and interest in working with college aged students. National certification as adult or Family Nurse Practitioner and current Advanced practice/ RN license required. Commitment to diversity.
At least one year of leadership experience strongly preferred.
Experience in health informatics strongly preferred

Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities, including symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral disorders.

Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to demonstrate empathy with individuals of all ages, particularly college-aged. Ability to act with discretion and keep confidentiality intact.
