Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the Hazardous Waste Program Manager, works both independently and supervised to: A) Provide technical services to University project managers for the investigation and identification of asbestos, lead-based paint and other building related hazardous materials by conducting comprehensive hazardous materials surveys and drafting related reports. B) Oversee and implement the university-wide asbestos and lead program. Coordinate asbestos and lead services and consulting technical services to UCLA construction project managers, building managers, and university-wide department managers. Conduct complex technical environmental surveys, asbestos and lead waste management, and coordinate with independent environmental consultants to provide university-wide technical services to UCLA project managers, prepare abatement bid specifications (Asbestos, Lead, Mold Remediation, and Miscellaneous Hazardous Materials) for UCLA Maintenance & Alterations, Capital Programs, Asset Management, and Housing departments. C) Serve as a member of the Emergency and Hazardous Material Response Team as assigned by completing appropriate training and responding to hazardous material releases.
