Position Description:
The Program Representative III serves as Assistant Director for the International Institute's Center for World Languages (CWL) on policy, administrative, and budgetary matters. Responsibilities include the following areas: Program Development and Administration; Contract and Grant Administration; Financial Management; Personnel; Outreach, Fund-raising, and Public Communications; and Operations Management.
The Executive Director will: Assist the Center Director in administering and supporting Center programs and initiatives, improving the national visibility of the Center through publicity of programs and activities. Oversee event scheduling and management, including selection of venue, travel arrangements for visitors, logistics, staffing, publicity, catering, and entertainment. Collaborate with principal investigators (PIs) in all aspects of grant proposals, including writing, editing, assembling funding materials in compliance with agency and University requirements and deadlines, and submitting proposals. Assist Center Director in administering an annual budget of approximately $900,000 including contracts, grants, general funds, private foundations, and gift funds. Assist in planning long-term budget projections and monitoring annual expenditures on the Center's operating budget. Supervise Center staff and student employees, including training, assigning tasks, monitoring work-flow, and evaluating performances. Design and develop professional development, community outreach, and public programs. Assist in establishing and maintaining contacts and serving as liaison with government representatives, university and community colleges, community groups, the business sector, and other campus units. Manage daily operations of the Center's administrative offices, assuring timely completion of tasks to meet goals and deadlines, reviewing and revising administrative and operating procedures, as needed, and maintain the Center's multiple program websites by providing up to date information to website technical staff.
