Ricks Center for Gifted Children at the University of Denver is an exemplary school serving the needs of gifted children since 1984. We provide nationally recognized gifted education to approximately 250 students ranging from three years of age through eighth grade, who

demonstrate exceptional, differentiated abilities and learning needs. Located on the campus of the University of Denver, the Ricks Center offers a progressive model of education focused on developing the intellectual, social, emotional, creative and physical needs of the gifted child. Our diverse student body benefit from small class size, expert teachers, a wide range of content offerings, cutting edge instructional practices, integrated curriculum, and a focus on community, care and engagement. Ricks Center students matriculate to a wide range of settings including local public and private schools, concurrent enrollment in high school and college, and boarding schools.

Position Summary

The Ricks Center for Gifted Children at the University of Denver invites applications for a French Teacher. We desire a candidate who is adept at working with a diverse group of gifted students ranging from preschool through eighth grade. This position requires a dynamic individual who approaches French in a creative and engaging manner.

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

  • Teach students from preschool through eighth grade in a specialist model.
  • Develop curriculum.
  • Assess and document student progress.
  • Support the school mission through active involvement in the school community.
  • Serve on curricular committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in French or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate hours in education of the gifted.
  • Valid teaching certificate/license, special license, or licensable.
  • Experience teaching gifted children.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, evenings and weekends as required.
