Position involves leading a research team on the assess effectiveness and understanding the mechanisms of current and newly designed Universal or Broadly-Reactive Influenza Vaccines in humans. Studies will focus on research in the areas of immunology, vaccine development, molecular biology, and/or virology to participate in a large multi-PI funded project on vaccine development and vaccine induced immune responses in pre-clinical and clinical cohorts. Areas of interest are seasonal and pre-pandemic influenza. Fellow position will involve contemporary and emerging technologies in influenza
immunology and vaccine design and analysis in the new state-of-the-art laboratories. Studies will use expertise in serology, flow cytometry, B and T cell immunology for analysis of acute and
memory responses to determination of B cell clonotypes, development and analysis of
monoclonal antibodies for epitope mapping and co-crystallization, and determine the underlying mechanisms of Universal Influenza candidates in both healthy adult and high-risk populations.
There is a possibility of working with small animals, blood, and tissue samples.
