This is a two (2) years Post-Doctoral Research Associate position in support of whitefly research on vegetable production in Georgia. Primarily responsibilities will be to collect, enter, and analyze data, as well as writing peer-review manuscript and research grants. Therefore, it is expected that the candidate coordinates research station and on-farm research projects, as well as laboratorial activities. The candidate will work directly with research/extension scientists, county extension agents, and vegetable producers to manage a range of projects. Collaborations will be mostly with faculty in the Department of Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Horticulture, but also with other institutions. The final goal is to find innovative ways to manage whitefly-transmitted viruses in vegetables. The individual will be responsible for working with technical staff in the department of Horticulture and with student workers to manage all on-farm and on-station projects. The incumbent will work with county faculty in effectively conducting on-farm field trials, implementing and maintaining programs, and collecting and analyzing data obtained from field trials. The incumbent must be willing to travel.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

Ph.D. degree in Horticulture or related area. Experience with grant writing will be a plus.
Valid driver’s license.
