Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

The current position functions as a day-to-day supervisor of the lab, responsible for purchasing, inventory, and ensuring compliance with all QA/QC and health and safety procedures. Supervises laboratory technicians and graduate students while in the lab. Assists in the routine analysis of environmental samples, including assisting with the operation and maintenance of lab equipment (i.e., ICP-MS, ICP-OES, XRD, XRF, etc.). Assists in the preparation of research manuscripts and reports for funding institutions. Experience with the handling and analysis of radionuclides. Additional job specific training will be provided as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

· General wet-chemical laboratory and instrumentation skills
· Knowledge of remote environmental monitoring and automation
· Familiarity with soil and plant sampling
· Will work independently
