Position Summary

This position will serve as the Business Manager for the Office of Communications and Creative Services (OCCS) in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. This position is based in Athens, Georgia and will report to the Director of OCCS. Major responsibilities for this position include managing all business, fiscal (including budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and invoicing), human resource, and office activities for a highly strategic, fast-paced and productive marketing and communications department while adhering to all University policies and procedures. In addition, this position is responsible for executive administrative support for the Director of OCCS.

• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibility for budget (including analysis, projection, reporting), payroll, OneSource and OneUSG Connect reporting, reconciliation of deposits, reconciliation of p-card accounting, procurement, purchase requests, payment requests, budget journals, sales tax reports, departmental sales accounts, record-keeping, and all other financial needs

Percentage of time40 Duties/Responsibilities


Responsibility for client and vendor relations including invoicing clients upon project completion, payments to vendors, delivery coordination, satisfaction surveys.

Percentage of time20 Duties/Responsibilities


Provide executive administrative support to the Director of OCCS including scheduled budget reports, contribution to strategic planning for the department, coordination of meetings, preparation of correspondence, assistance in preparation of travel authorities and expenses as needed. Provide guidance/assistance to departmental personnel as needed. Serve as central point of contact for the department.

Percentage of time20 Duties/Responsibilities


Responsibility for human resource management including job separations, job postings and hiring processes, onboarding new employees, leave requests, and travel reimbursements.

Percentage of time15 Duties/Responsibilities


Coordination with other units across the college and university on shared projects and budget items as necessary. Must be prepared to temporarily provide support to other units as needed.
