The Department of Family Medicine, at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, is leading change in our Health System with team-based care models, patient care quality improvement initiatives, and process improvement efforts to increase patient safety and operational efficiency. All of our clinic sites have certification as a Patient Centered Medical Home. We serve a diverse patient population including medically underserved populations and refugees.

We are seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-ineligible Assistant Professor position. This Position may be eligible to convert to tenure-track at an appropriate time in the future, consistent with SOM Promotion and Tenure guidelines and candidate qualifications.

This position includes responsibilities as physician lead – responsible for medical direction - at one of our satellite clinics in Albemarle County, a thriving community in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The incumbent will be responsible for direct patient care, to include inpatient and outpatient care, and teaching and supervision of residents and medical students. Direct patient care includes prenatal and post-partum care of patients.

Candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board-eligible by either the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians by the start date. Preference will be given to candidates that have cross cultural experiences and global health clinic experiences, inpatient service experience and 3+ years teaching experience in residency and/or fellowship training.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
