Responsible for support for Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine data and report requests as well as the creation and maintenance of appropriate database applications for organizational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Recommend, develop, test, implement and maintain stored procedures that are used for reporting.

Recommend new Business Intelligence and reporting tools.

Document technical and user requirements of all new projects. Recommend, implement and maintain solutions for new projects.

Work closely with the Executive Director of Rowan Medicine and his appointed Subject Matter Experts to identify needed data structures, business logic, reporting etc. Recommend and implement solutions. Support state and finance reporting requirements as identified by SME’s to ensure system integrity, changing regulatory reporting requirements and continuous improvement. Anticipate and respond to changing reporting requirements in order to meet deadlines.

Organize planning teams for future data warehouse design and implementation.

Prioritize with the Clinical Systems Director, SOM and Information Resources and Technology senior leadership new projects based on organizational need, government/mandatory reporting requirements and maximization of organizational financial/clinical opportunities.

Optimize existing databases for efficiency, ease of use and for security and programmatic enhancements.

Participate as a vital member of the Rowan SOM IRT clinical technical team to supply support services for the organization.

Work closely with the Clinical IRT staff to provide fill-in and on call support. Independently interact with end users to help guide decision making. Demonstrate critical-thinking skills when developing solutions. Coordinate and collaborate with members of various Rowan IRT departments for maintenance, project planning, scheduling and implementation.

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related discipline. Minimum experience: at least three (3) years of SQL reporting and development using preferably MS SQL in a clinical or business setting is required. Oracle experience will also be considered. Requires expert skills with T-SQL query writing. Certification in either Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle query writing a plus.

Demonstrated experience in gathering complex reporting requirements, designing and implementing Visualization Solutions (Reports, Dashboards, Metrics, KPI’s). Familiarity with scripting and scripting tools. ETL experience a plus. Good written and oral communications skills are a must.
