Rice Design Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of architecture, urban design, and the built environment in the Houston region. The Accounting Assistant III position is responsible for all accounting duties at Rice Design Alliance (RDA). Duties and tasks include: processing invoices, providing detailed financial reports to the executive director and board, processing expense reports, ensuring fund compliance, and acting as the primary purchasing agent for the department. For the many fundraising events organized by RDA, this position processes all sales, donations, and pledges. This position works collaboratively with Rice Design Alliance staff, as well as the organization’s committees and board members to support its programs, events, and initiatives. This often includes working at special events and providing backup to the administrative coordinator. This position requires meticulous organization, timely processing of expenses and reports, and a friendly disposition that benefits from a team environment.

Experience Preferred

- More than five years of experience providing advanced administrative support
- Experience working in a higher education environment

License/Certification RequiredLicense/Certification PreferredSkills Required

- Excellent knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, database software programs to complete work assignments
- Excellent attention to detail
- Accounting support skills

Skills Preferred

- Familiarity with Edgar Webapps, Blackbaud CRM
- Advanced accounting support skills

This position has daily contract with staff, students, RDA members, and vendors.
