ECU Academic Affairs is currently seeking a Graduate Assistant to assist in research.
The Research Group for Underrepresented Minorities in Academic Medicine (RG) has an opportunity for a Graduate Assistant during 2019-2020 with the possibility of extension through 2020-2021. The Graduate Assistant will support the work of the RG and assist with scholarly projects.
Responsibilities include:
•Quantitative and qualitative data gathering, analysis, data visualization, report or manuscript writing
•Data entry into spreadsheets
•Project management
•Development of focus groups for educational and community projects
•Communication with research partners within and external to the school of medicine around projects and scholarship
•Data set management and analysis
•Literature searches
•Providing other assistance as requested
The qualified candidate will have training and/or experience in research, data analysis, methodology, developing surveys and arranging focus groups. The candidate should have strong analytic, organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills along with commitment to educational research integrity. The candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office and also have experience in using technologies such as Qualtrics, SPSS, Redcap, Banner and other platforms.
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree and admission in an accredited degree-granting graduate program at East Carolina University.
