17-Aug-2019 Close All Job SummaryThe BUENO College Assistance Migrant Program (BUENO CAMP) is welcoming applications for a CAMP Recruiter/Retention Specialist that will work under the supervision of the Project Director and will be responsible for recruiting 35 qualified students annually to participate in the CAMP project. The Recruiter/Retention Specialist will also implement strategies and tools to retain students throughout their term in the program.Who We AreThe BUENO College Assistance Migrant Program (BUENO CAMP) is a federally funded program that assists first time freshmen at Aims Community College who are of migrant and seasonal farm working backgrounds. The purpose of CAMP is to address the education and social development of low income and first generation college migrant students. BUENO CAMP provides academic, personal, and financial support to ensure successful completion of the student’s first year of college, continued enrollment, and eventual graduation from college.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeBoth recruitment and retention tasks will be accomplished by carrying out the following responsibilities:
  • Assure that federal guidelines are followed in the recruitment and selection of eligible migrant students;
  • Meet with the regional directors of Colorado’s Migrant Education programs and H.S. counselors of Northern Colorado School Districts to develop recruitment plans;
  • Collaborate with BUENO Center HEP program staff to develop and implement recruitment plans;
  • Organize and hosts on-campus “CAMP Scholarship Information Night”;
  • Establish a Selection Committee to review applications and interview student applicants;
  • Track student academic progress and assign tutorials and other services for students in need of additional assistance.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge, understanding and work experience with underserved populations, specifically migrant seasonal farm workers. Must be bilingual; English/Spanish.
