Supervises the Records Assistant and Federal Work Study student assigned to the Records Section. Responsible for training Records personnel assigned to the FSUPD Records Section. Responsible for and serves as the primary contact for fingerprinting services. Assists with managing and maintaining the department's electronic Records Management System, Spillman. Manages the electronic traffic crash reporting system, TraCS, as well as CrimeReports.com, which catalogues campus crime.

Classifies police reports in the Spillman Records Management System, generated by Law Enforcement and Security Officers at Florida State University. Serves as the Custodian of Records for the department. Reviews police reports for accuracy and confidential information and distributes them as required by federal, state and local laws to various governmental agencies, law offices and University departments. Serves as the department’s validation coordinator; ensuring validation procedures are completed in accordance with FCIC/NCIC policies. Responsible for compliance with FCIC/NCIC rules and policies.

Responsible for interpreting guidelines for the proper maintenance of law enforcement records. Creates and maintains files for persons required to register for sex, narcotics and Arson offenses. Responsible for processing all Parking Citations issued by Law Enforcement Officers. Corresponds with Parking and Transportation regarding proper documentation of parking citations. Reviews, files, and tracks all Law Enforcement records for the FSU Panama City Campus/Gulf Coast Community College. Implements court orders regarding seal/expunge records in compliance with applicable State Statutes. Responds to court ordered subpoenas.

Conducts research and complies statistical reports to aid FSU Police Command Staff, University personnel and representatives from the media. Responds to inquiries pertaining to the release of records. Prepares the Uniform Crime Report for the FSU main Campus and Panama City Campus on a semi-annual basis. Assists the Support Services area with gathering data for the annual Clery report. Responsible for accurate data reporting for compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.


Coordinates fingerprinting services for FSU students, faculty, staff and members of the general public. Serves as the agency’s FALCON representative; managing fingerprints submitted by FSUPD. Serves as the department's primary notary. Responsible for evaluating current and other Records Management Systems.

Responsible for budget and purchasing needs related to equipment and materials for the Records Section. Responsible for staffing the Records Assistant position and Federal Work Study students. Completes performance evaluations for Records personnel. Provides budget projections for the Records Section.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience, or a High school diploma/equivalency and six years of experience related to the duties of this position.

(Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
