The Associate Director will develop and implement co-curricular programs to guide Stanford GSB aspiring social entrepreneurs through the entrepreneurial process, help them make the most of the resources, insights, and networks the school has to offer, and cheer them on as they endeavor to apply their business toolkit to make the world a better place.

The Associate Director will work under the general direction of faculty, report to the Center for Social Innovation director, and partner with a peer colleague to develop, implement, and administer the vision, strategy, and goals of the various components of the CSI Social Entrepreneurship Program.

The Associate Director is responsible for the development, management, and evaluation of a portfolio of programs and fellowships for MBA and MSx students; develops relationships with high profile partners who can advise and mentor students; and supports the development of the social entrepreneurship curriculum as needed.

S/he works collaboratively with the rest of the CSI team to determine the best approach to completing projects and requires independent judgment for decision-making as well as careful consideration of school policies.

Central to this role are experience with the entrepreneurial process, including an understanding of human-centered design, theories of change and impact evaluation, development of founding teams, and fundraising strategy. The Associate Director will also have knowledge of the social impact landscape, including the breadth of impact roles across government, nonprofits, social ventures, and the corporate world. Key to success are the interpersonal skills needed to develop and maintain a broad network, and a capacity to relate to the population of business students and provide supportive coaching.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage co-curricular programs by conducting educational activities, including outreach to varied stakeholders within the program, assigning resources and making program improvement recommendations that impact policies and programs.
  • Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for new educational co-curricular programs.
  • Source, collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
  • Contribute to and inform on strategic program/entity planning and related funding and financial sustainability.
  • Advise students.
  • Write and/or edit complex content for proposals, grants, and other program stewardship activities.
  • Develop or contribute to outreach strategy related to program communications, development, and partnerships.
  • Be flexible to completing any other additional assigned duties.

    To be successful in this position, you will bring:

    • Bachelor's degree and three or more years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
    • Ability to develop program partnerships.
    • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
    • Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.

    In addition, our preferred requirements include:

    • Several experiences working in the social sector highly preferred.
    • Advanced degree may be required for some programs.
    • For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.
