Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): 

Bachelor’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time professional experience in developing web and mobile software applications and embedded systems. Experience with object-oriented design and development.  Experience in test-driven software development. Experience in web, mobile and database programming (e.g., C#, Python, JavaScript, PHP, HTML5, CSS, SQL and XML). In-depth knowledge of operating systems, embedded systems, data engineering, and full-stack development. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Advanced Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure. Experience in software architectural design and test-driven development and deployment.  Working knowledge of machine learning and data mining techniques. Experience in interdisciplinary R&D projects in a related field.  

 

Brief Description of Duties:  

Under the guidance of CEWIT’s executive leadership, the Software Engineer is responsible for leading the development of software for web/mobile applications and embedded systems to support CEWIT’s operations.

 

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. 

 

    Lead the development of software for web/mobile applications and embedded systems to support CEWIT’s operations:

      Lead the design, configuration and testing of hardware components

      Lead the design and implementation of software solutions to data integration, analytics, reporting and decision support;

    Evaluate existing systems and apply advanced technical skills and problem-solving experience to improve and enhance system architecture, functionality, robustness and efficiency;

    Provide technical support for the preparation of R&D proposals and proof-of-concept studies;

    Provide technical support for CEWIT’s partner organizations on collaborative R&D projects;

    Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

 

Special Notes:

This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
