Technology Support Staff I
Shenandoah University’s Institutional Computing department is seeking applications for a Technology Support Staff I position. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, VA
This position will work with our Help Desk staff to provide technical customer support to the SU Campus Community. Familiarity with Windows and Apple computer hardware and software a plus, more important is a willingness to learn. Must possess the ability to work effectively with a broad range of users with varied levels of familiarity with computers and communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students.
Responsibilities include: Providing technical software and hardware support for SU supported technology. Managing work order requests and classroom technology. Researching technical solutions for university supported hardware and software. Staying current with technology changes.
Qualifications: College degree preferred. Must have at least 2 years of experience in IT support related roles. Working knowledge of macOS, iOS and Windows operating systems and their various application packages. Familiarity with Google Apps for Education, Microsoft Office 365, and Jamf Pro is a plus. The selected candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements essential for the job functions to include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and physical dexterity to perform equipment installation and repairs.
*Note: A pre-employment background check and drug screen will be required as a condition of employment. If the job requires driving for University business, a satisfactory driving record will also be required.
