Contribute to the safety and security of the campus, university property, faculty, staff, students and members of the community who enter the campus by overseeing all aspects of the campus access control operations. This includes the supervision of the locksmiths, access control technicians, and associated outside contractors and management of the access control department systems and processes.
Required QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of electrified door hardware and access control system components, hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Experience supervising locksmiths and access control technicians.
- Working knowledge of mechanical locksmith trade including keying, repairing, installing and servicing locks and associated hardware.
- Experience with IT software/hardware used in electronic access control systems.
- Working knowledge of locks, locking devices, exit devices, doors, door hardware such as closers, panic hardware, and hinges and related devices.
- Working knowledge of large master key systems.
- Ability to repair, install and service electronic and magnetic locks and related hardware and software.
- Ability to communicate with diverse populations.
- Ability to coordinate work with both internal and external stakeholders including FPDC, IT, academic departments, college administration, special events, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of electronic key storage systems – software and hardware.
- Knowledge of CBORD access control systems.
- Experience operating a lock shop including issuance and retraction of keys to staff members.
- Experience managing contractors in the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic access control and mechanical lock systems and components.
- Experience performing key audits.
