Job Details
The Admissions Office Receptionist is a member of the Enrollment Support Coordinator Team within the Office of Admissions. The person in this position is expected to provide superior customer service to prospective students, families, and other visitors to the university.
Accountabilities:- Perform admissions receptionist duties
- Assists visitors, maintains lobby area resources and spaces, and directs student workers as needed
- Coordinates and schedules tours, group information sessions and prospective student interviews
- Responsible for sending confirmation emails, assessing space, processing requests for special accommodations, evaluating space capacity and meeting visitor needs
- Keyholder for public spaces and manages space reservations
- Knowledgeable about daily visit offerings, wider campus activities, campus layout, city of Bethlehem, and Lehigh Valley region
- As member of the Enrollment Support Coordinator team, provide administrative support for the department and support the enrollment goals for the division and institution
- Possess a thorough understanding of: the admissions and financial aid application, forms, and deadlines; the process of submitting documentation for an application; commonly asked Lehigh facts and figures, and the importance of visiting student to the overall enrollment goals
- Understand the distinct responsibilities of each Enrollment Support Coordinator, and contribute assistance when needed
- Act as the primary liaison to students and parents; represent the Enrollment Management Division with professionalism and provide superior service with every customer interaction
- Provide telephone customer service to prospective students, current students, and their families on all aspects of the admissions process
- At times, review and respond to all emails to the Admissions e-mail account and forwarding when necessary to the appropriate person or department at Lehigh
- Retrieve and respond to phone voice messages, accept packages for the office
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three to five years related work experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid writing ability and organizational skills
- Solid analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
- Solid computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software
- Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
