Summary:
•In coordination with Annual Giving, plans and implements annual fundraising and engagement programming for Arrupe College.
•Participates in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of annual fund and high level annual fund donors. Works closely with Loyola Annual Fund team to plan and execute annual written and electronic appeals.
•Manages Arrupe donor database, including bi-annual review and update of all data with Loyola’s Advancement Information Services office, and stewardship functions to ensure the accurate accounting of gifts, as well as the appropriate recognition for donors.
•Maintains and manages a prospect portfolio of annual fund and major gift prospects to qualify, cultivate and solicit.
•Manages all aspects of Arrupe College student scholarship program, including scholar tracking, donor stewardship/bi-annual scholar letters, and working with Donor Relations team on providing scholar data and coordinating events and meetings with scholarship donors when requested.
• Works closely with Asst. Dean for Advancement and University Marketing and Communications to execute the annual communications plan for Arrupe College, including print (Annual Report), electronic (e-newsletters; videos, website) and social media to steward donors and generate new prospects.
•Works with Corporate and Foundation Relations Team and Asst. Dean for Advancement on foundation and corporate grant proposals and reports, including providing data, generating narrative and editing
•Work with Arrupe budget manager and colleagues to track grant spending and serve as point of contact for Sponsored Program Accounting (SPA) and Office of Research Services (ORS) for grant expenditures and questions
•Responsible for writing correspondence and working on proposals for prospective donors, preparing contact reports on meetings and interactions donors and prospects
•Coordinates appointments and prepares materials used by the Dean or Asst. Dean for Advancement for any meetings, visits, events or phone calls with donors or prospects as requested
•Leads and/or participates in creating, planning and coordinating with staff any special events and meetings related directly to ongoing fund-raising strategies for individuals, foundations and corporations.
•Collaborates on prospect strategy. Participates in calendar- and fiscal year- end annual fund renewal outreach to donors.
•Develops partnerships with appropriate administrators, faculty members, and fellow advancement staff to meet the College’s stewardship obligations to major donors.
•Tracks restricted gift accounts and work with Donor Relations on pledge reminders and presidential acknowledgements
•Attends university and Arrupe specific events and donor meetings as needed
•Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

•Bachelor’s degree required.
•3-5 years’ experience in development or related field required.
•Experience in higher education strongly preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
•Experience working in alumni relations, public relations, communications, event planning and volunteer organizational work is strongly preferred.
•A proven commitment to diversity, the will to embrace diversity in all aspects and demonstrated success in recruiting, retaining, and building a diverse development team.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum three years of advancement experience or experience in marketing, sales, public relations or other related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven track record in donor cultivation and solicitation and willingness to embrace a team approach to fundraising or proven related business experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively multitask.
- Flexibility and willingness to attend evening and weekend events and/or meetings.
- Knowledge of and experience with development/advancement software.
- Familiarity with faith-based programs and affinity and appreciation for the Jesuit mission of the University strongly preferred.
- Advancement experience in organization or educational institution serving first generation college students preferable.
