The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Audio Visual Event Technician I. The AV Event Technician is responsible for delivering fast, friendly, dependable, and customer-oriented audio/visual related services. The Technician is the "eyes and hands in the field", serving all sectors of IT but primarily supports presentations and A/V needs for both instructional and event support.Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The student will:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade A/V equipment including projectors, switchers, cameras, video conferencing equipment, public address systems, and digital signage.Provide user assistance to faculty, staff, and students.Support audio-visual, presentation, and instructional technology equipment, including supervised installs.Perform contracted configuration changes in coordination with other IT units.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of incident management preferredKnowledge of Windows/Macintosh operating systems and peripheral installation preferredKnowledge of PC networking preferred. Knowledge of audio/visual cabling and equipment preferredAbility to multi-task, manage workload, and meet deadlinesMust possess mobility to walk around campus and work in a regular office setting, strong verbal communication over phones, strength to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and valid US driver's license to operate vans and carts as needed.
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
- At least one (1) year of experience working in an AV/Service environment; or, an equivalent combination of education, certification and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
