The Technology Services Evening Support Specialist reports to the Director of Technology Services. This position supports faculty and student computing and printing: Computer labs, specialty labs, and

Technology Enhanced Classrooms, computer imaging, and AV support. This position will specifically and comprehensively support various systems and software used for instruction and research during evening classes.

This position will be working from 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Essential Position Responsibilities/Functions:
  • Supports and maintains all Rowan Technology Enhancement Classrooms, computer facilities and open computer labs.
  • Installs and images software for Rowan computer facilities.
  • Supports end-users using varying operating systems including Windows and Macintosh.
  • Provides software support to faculty and staff.
  • Maintains user support tracking systems.
  • Maintains printing tracking system.
  • Maintains support and training materials.
  • Supports and maintains all Rowan computer lab printing systems.
  • Develops training materials for hardware and software support.
  • Provides high quality and professional customer-based service for all instructional, research, and computing needs.
Qualifications: (Required)

Minimally, the Technology Services Evening Support Specialist should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Technology or a related discipline such as computer science.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an Education or Technology-related discipline, with significant experience in instructional technologies.
  • Experience working collaboratively on instructional projects, and leading multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Proficiency in diverse OS computing environments.
  • Experience with computer imaging and virtual environments.
  • Experience with printing technologies, support, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of some structured programming languages such as html, javascript, and PHP.
  • Proficiency in Web and online design, implementation, and evaluation.
Qualifications: (Highly Desirable)
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to work independently and to solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to stay current with rapidly changing technology.
