In order to build an active pool of qualified applicants, Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for adjunct faculty (temporary, part-time) to teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day/evenings, on-line and dual credit instructors to teach in high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as needed basis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching varying schedules to a diverse student body in accordance with the established syllabi, at a variety of locations, utilizing technology, and using a variety of teaching methods in instruction.

Piedmont Technical College is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Instructor for its Electric Line worker program. Candidate will provide instructions to entry level Electric Line worker students and help in developing curriculum, competencies, and an environment conducive to student success. Experience of applicants should include basic underground and overhead power line construction, safe work strategies, proper use of protective equipment, pole climbing techniques and rescue procedures, electrical system power flow, maintenance and operations of electric utility systems, underground cable maintenance, metering, rigging and lifting, operation of trenching machinery and aerial trucks, and customer service. Job responsibilities include recruiting prospective students, scheduling classes, program instructions, equipment inventory, equipment maintenance, evaluation of learning, and providing hands-on assignments. Instructor will be expected to attend needed training to expand current skill set.

High School Diploma or equivalent, Prior Electric Line worker industry experience, and good communication skills.

Associate's degree or equivalent in teaching field and prior teaching experience.
