Job Summary

Provides quality parallel instruction in mathematics, as well as all other areas of proficiency.

Review will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.

Essential Functions

Provide one-on-one and small group instructional assistance in mathematics (to include arithmetic, algebra, finite mathematics, statistics, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus) to TRIO-Student Support Services participants.

Develop and utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles and needs of students.

Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress and competency attainment.

Adhere to all Department of Education rules and regulations.

Submit related reports as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with endorsement in Mathematics.

Strong communication and human relations skills.

Ability to work effectively with students with a wide variety of learning styles and abilities.

Experience working with populations having diverse values and/or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds.

Ability to plan, organize, and manage time, as well as prioritize work.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Desired Qualifications

Secondary or post-secondary teaching experience.

Experience working in a TRIO or other college access program.

Experience in curriculum design and/or implementation.

Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, as well as Blumen software.

Fluency in a second language.

Work Schedule

15-20 hours each week; schedule to be determined
