Lecturer - Computer Applications Program

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Full-time, non-tenure track faculty, lecturer to provide on campus instruction for introductory and advanced computer application courses in the Computer Applications Program Minor.
•Teach introductory and advanced computer applications courses; may include intermediate computer applications, introductory and advanced website development, programming, database management systems, computer networks, information security or other courses – typical load is 12 credits during each of two semesters per year
•Facilitate class instruction. Teach the assigned classes in accordance with learning objectives and session plan outlines specified by the syllabus
•Evaluate student performance; administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and rubrics.
•Provide scheduled office hours and informal advising of students in the minor program
•Work with department faculty to contribute to curriculum development
•Serve on department and college committees as appropriate
Job Requirements – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Strong computer technology skills and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
•Familiarity with Windows /MAC OS X operating systems
•Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
•Basic knowledge of programming
•Relevant instructional ability
Reports to the Director of LibrariesRequired Qualifications
•Master’s degree in computer science, library science, information systems or other related fieldPreferred Qualifications
•Relevant teaching experience in computer applications at the college level
•Demonstrated knowledge of or work experience in computer science or a related field
