Job Details

The Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives works closely with Dean, colleagues in the Office of the Dean, and other campus academic leaders to enhance the Colleges efforts and outcomes in strategic initiatives, to engage with diverse campus communities, and to advance academic partnerships that support the Colleges strategic mission. The Associate Dean serves on the Colleges executive leadership team and participates fully in its strategic planning processes as well as routine problem-solving and management processes. The Associate Dean serves as key advisor to the Dean and participates in key constituent meetings to ensure appropriate and responsive follow-up and accountability.

Required Qualifications:
•A minimum of eight years of work experience including experience in higher education;
•Masters degree in higher education administration, business, law or related field;
•Excellent administrative, analytical, communication, interpersonal, managerial, and problem-solving skills;
•Ability to think strategically and lead initiatives that affect and involve multiple college and university stakeholders;
•Ability to build strong partnerships within the College and University;
•Ability to manage highly sensitive information appropriately;
•Strong collaboration, persuasion, and consensus-building skills;
•Skill and experience examining and reengineering operations and procedures as well as designing and implementing new initiatives to improve quality outcomes;
•Strong commitment to diversity and the ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in or knowledge of the nature and operation of research universities highly desirable;
•Sustained experience working with a diverse array of university constituents in a collegial and effective manner
