The CRE is leading a growing movement to involve FSU students in the highest levels of academic engagement, helping students take advantage of the very best a major research university like FSU has to offer. This position serves as a liaison with faculty, staff, and students, enhancing opportunities for undergraduate research and creative activities on campus, in the local community, and around the world.

Provides leadership in establishing and implementing policies and procedures for academic and program policies that affect CRE programs. Assists with coordinating administrative, fiscal, and operational activities as well as developing and implementing new goals and programs. Serves as Acting Director in the Director's absence. Supervises the CRE Academic Program Specialist and other Graduate Assistants, as needed.

Responsible for the management of CRE programs, including the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) and FGLSAMP. Serves as liaison between Undergraduate Studies and the wider UROP mentors, leaders, and participants in the research community at FSU. Develops relationships between colleges and departments within the University that are involved with UROP enrolled students in order to attain departmental goals and objectives. Facilitates the distribution of UROP materials grants to faculty and graduate student mentors; oversees the hiring of UROP students with work-study funding; and organizes the annual Undergraduate Research Symposia and other research dissemination events.

Assists with coordinating assessment efforts, including the Annual Report, the Council on Undergraduate Research Campus-wide Award for Undergraduate Research Accomplishments (AURA), and other program evaluations. Tracks and assesses the activities and outcomes within UROP. Collaborates with the other offices in the Division of Undergraduate Studies, especially those of the Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House and the Honors in the Major program. Reviews research area submissions to the Garnet and Gold Scholars Program. Assists with any other CRE and UGS activities, as needed.

Assists students by advising undergraduates seeking research and creative projects locally and abroad, promoting student participation in research dissemination, and preparing students to give oral and poster presentations.

Coordinates and/or serves on committees for planning and implementing CRE events and activities.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.

Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.

Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to interpret academic program requirements and provide advice.
