General Description / Primary Purpose

This is work performing complex administrative duties. Typically reports to an Assoc/ Assistant Vice President, or above

Essential Duties

Job Function

Reports directly to the Associate VP for Student Affairs and provides administrative support mainly to the Associate Provost and Associate VP for Student Affairs, as well as two Assistant VPs for Student Affairs.
Performs a variety of administrative and professional support related to the administrative functions within Student Affairs/ Student Success. Sets up meetings and manages calendars for AVPs.
Responsible for the arrangements and the logistics of team-wide workshops, events, and seminars. Sends out Division-wide/ team-wide announcements, as requested by the AVP.
Responsible for management and awards of the Emergency Fund Scholarships and Student Affairs Scholarships. Provides research and support for medical Withdrawal Appeals and Conduct Appeals. Tracks appeals and updates AVP regarding their status.
Responsible for planning and implementation of the annual values awards. Responsible for the coordination of A&P evaluations and contracts, as requested by the Associate Provost, Associate VP, or Asst VPs
Responsible for collecting and analyzing data in response to requests by the Board of Governors office for the Division of Student Affairs. Performs special assignments as requested by the Associate Provost and Associate Vice President.

Takes minutes at meetings.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma and seven years of experience directly related to the job functions. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Faculty Position Required QualificationsDepartmental Requirements

Preference shown to applicants who meet the required qualifications and also possess the following:
Experience working in professional/ administrative environment. Ability and skills to interpret rules and regulations as outlined by the BOT. Ability to work well with the diverse student population and to communicate effectively with department and university Ability to compile information and data for a variety of reports. Must have a high level of integrity and reliability and must possess conflict resolutions skills to work with parents, students and employees in sensitive and sometimes emotionally difficult situations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
