Job Description

This position will report to the Department of Business Administration located at the West Charleston Campus. This position will provide administrative support to the Department Chair, Directors and full time/part-time faculty as well as provide programmatic support to the department and the students and help maintain department files and records. Candidate must have ability to effectively meet the needs of the students and faculty when staffing the department front office. Under direct supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain files and records with confidentiality.
  • Answer all phone calls to the department and handle all requests made in person by students, faculty, and staff.
  • Deal with students on a daily basis via telephone, in person and or written communication
  • Provide administrative support.
  • Maintain calendar(s) and handle all the scheduling for the West Charleston, Cheyenne and Henderson department programs.
  • Produce utilization reports at the end of each semester.
  • Assemble brochures, promotional and educational materials/packets.
  • Filing (paper and electronic).
  • Photocopying/Scanning.
  • General Office Duties.
  • Must be prepared to deliver documents, books, conference items, etc. to other buildings on campus when necessary.
  • Attend CAPE seminars related to their administrative functions.
  • This position requires reliable and consistent attendance.


Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Salary Range

Grade 25, Step 1 - Grade 25, Step 10

$33,971.76 - $49,151.52
