THE LILLIAN RADFORD ENDOWED PROFESSORSHIP IN EDUCATION

The Department of Education at Trinity University invites applications and nominations for the position of the Lillian Radford Endowed Professorship in Education. We especially invite candidates of color to apply. The Lillian Radford Endowed Professorship in Education provides leadership to and teaches in the graduate level program in educational leadership. This twelve month position supports a cohort-based program offered in close cooperation with area school districts and with related community agencies, leading to the M.Ed. degree and administrative certification. The Radford Endowed Professor will also serve as the Director of the Center for Educational Leadership working closely with the Executive Director and Associate Director. The Lillian Radford Endowed Professorship in Education will be held by a person who has an established record of excellence in teaching, maintains a national reputation as a scholar and researcher in educational leadership and innovation, and has a strong record of service to the academy and local communities. This person will have an outstanding record of experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of Full Professor with tenure. The appointment is expected to start in summer 2020.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence, extensive knowledge, and experience in most if not all of the following areas:
● an earned doctorate in one of the disciplines represented in the Department of Education from an accredited institution
● a record of accomplishment in scholarship, teaching and service sufficient to warrant appointment to a tenured, endowed full professorship
● successful senior academic experience in educational leadership, including a demonstrated record of successful management of programs
● the demonstrated ability to work with faculty members and students from racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse backgrounds
● evidence of promoting social justice, equity, and inclusion
● a successful record of community engagement, district and school partnership establishment
● a successful record of procurement and management of grants
● teaching, administration, or other practical experience in PK-12 setting(s)
