DescriptionReporting to the Executive Director of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director, Programs and Initiatives is responsible for the development and management of a robust digital philanthropy strategy and other targeted campaigns to increase philanthropic engagement across the Temple community year over year. Bringing solid skills in digital campaign design, execution and measurement, the Assistant Director should be a creative, out-of-the-box and resourceful thinker and doer and they must be a team player with well-honed partnership-building and client management skills. Projects and initiatives include but are not limited to: Giving Tuesday; Temple Toast (Temple’s annual giving day); Owl Crowd (Temple’s crowdfunding platform); recurring giving program; matching gift program and affinity-based campaigns. 

Utilizing a combination of skills, including relationship building/management, knowledge of digital marketing/philanthropy and an ability to analyze results, the Assistant Director will be expected to grow each campaign annually. The Assistant Director will be responsible for building partnerships with colleagues across the University and will work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to effectively market campaigns to various University constituents. 

As part of the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, the Assistant Director will work collaboratively with members of the Department creating innovative campaigns to engage alumni and other constituents in supporting the University on an annual basis. In addition to the campaigns already in place, the Assistant Director will assist with the strategy and implementation of additional affinity-based campaigns and will need to be well versed in the language of annual giving and donor relations in order to successfully manage each campaign. 

Working within a dynamic department, the Assistant Director will be supported by centralized staff, including marketing/communications and alumni relations professionals. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and three years of directly related experience in higher education development. Experience in fundraising or annual giving. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
