Description:

The postdoctoral fellow will conduct independent experiments and assume the technical responsibility for studies on stress effects on CRH neuron signaling and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis activation. This will involve experimental design, all aspects of data acquisition, data interpretation and preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.


Qualifications:

1. PhD degree in neuroscience, pharmacology, or biological sciences.

2. Research experience in neurophysiology.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:

1. Strong organizational and management skills

2. Experience with brain dissection and tissue collection and processing

3. Experience with brain slices, electrophysiological recording, and molecular techniques

4. Proficiency with common laboratory equipment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ph.D. in Neuroscience.
  2. Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology
  3. Experience with molecular biology
  4. Experience with immunohistochemistry/Western blot
  5. Experience with brain slice preparation
  6. Experience with stereotaxic intracerebral virus injection.
