Job Description Summary

Student Ministers are students of faith who work in the University Ministry department.
Student Ministers should desire to share their faith with other students, faculty, and staff.
Student Ministers are expected to work 20 hours a week for the ministry office.

The 20 hour of work that Student Ministers are expected to do includes, but is not limited to the following:
• Attending Mass and other community prayer events.
• Participating in hospitality ministry and liturgical ministry.
• Attending EXALT(Eucharistic exposition), Community night, and Bible study.
• Praying at intercollegiate sporting events.

Student Ministers collaborate with each other to plan University Ministry activities and attend weekly meetings with University Ministry staff.
Student Ministers collaborate with Residence Life, to assist with the spiritual need of the resident students.
Student Ministers will be expected to participate in two staff retreats annually and two student retreats annually.
Student Ministers are held to high standards in their personal and public lives, information placed on social media is considered the public forum. Public behavior that is deemed unbefitting a Student Minister can be grounds for dismissal from employment without warning.

The search will be conducted to fill the following positions:

Student Minister Sunday Mass Sacristan
Student Minister Sacristan
Student Minister Officer of Evangelization

Job Description

Required Education/ Experience/Skills:
The applicant must be a student for one complete academic year before applying for the position.
The applicant should have been involved in University Ministry before applying for the position.
The applicant should be willing to dress appropriately during work hours.
Due to the demands of the position applicants can not be Orientation Leaders or Resident Assistants.


Preferred Qualifications:
Some previous ministry experience or currently a student studying religion or theology.
