Job Description Summary

Seeking student to assist Physician Assistant Professor. Duties include research and community outreach; should be self-motivated, can meet deadlines, is confident of their opinions, can express themselves, and can contribute to furthering health related research agendas.

Specific Duties

Research primary and secondary literature on theoretical approaches to health sciences and any material relative to the topic as detailed by faculty
Community outreach via email, phone, or letters
Gathering, organizing, cleaning, and anonymizing records
Maintaining information databases
Presenting information and data using info graphics
Research will be primarily conducted primarily in PA Program and on La Verne main campus with some travel and access to other local libraries
Gather research on health related topics and international issues using library databases and documenting findings

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of Microsoft Word
Able to research related topics
Good phone etiquette
Good verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Flexible working schedule
Ability to express ideas and opinions confidently

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Preference will be given to students with a GPA of 3.0 and above, as well as strong written communication skills.

Benefits Summary

Employees are eligible for the following benefits:

One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.

University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.

In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.

Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
